Google’s Android 10 released officially

Google has released the 10thmajor update for the Android platform. Formely known as Android Q, the Android 10 has been rolled out for Pixel smartphones. This new version of the mobile operagting system supports a lot many utility features along with new technologies such as foldable devices and 5G. Google also claims to give greater protection, transparency and control over the data. There are many features that Android 10 offers and have been creating a buzz for a while now. However, some of the features are different from the ones offered before. There is smart reply which suggests actions. With the help of this feature, no copying or pasting will be required. It will automatically open the link to anything across all messaging apps. The new Android 10 also lets user enable the dark theme for the entire phone or even specific apps. This is a very talked about feature and this is aimed at helping with battery. Another highly talked about feature of Android 10 is its gesture navigation which lets users move between tasks with simple gestures. Besides this Android 10 gives users Live Caption which will automatically caption videos, audio in any app. Android 10 will put user in control of privacy and security features. Users can choose to only share location data with apps while they’re using them. Not just this, with Android 10, users will also receive reminders when an app that they are not actively using is accessing their location, so they can decide whether or not to continue sharing. Google to launch Political Advertising Transparency Report and Political Ads Library for Indian Lok Sabha Election 2019

Search giant Google is planning to bring more transparency to the India Lok Sabha Elections. The company plans to introduce an India-specific Political Advertising Transparency Report and searchable Political Ads Library that aims to bring more openness to election advertising online and enabling voters to get the election-related information they need. “In 2019, over 850 million Indians are expected to cast their vote to elect the country’s next government. We’re thinking hard about elections and how we continue to support democratic processes in India and around the world. In line with this, we are bringing more transparency to election advertising online, and surfacing relevant information to help people better navigate the electoral process”, says, Chetan Krishnaswamy, Director – Public Policy, Google India. These will provide comprehensive information about who is purchasing election ads on Google platforms and how much money is being spent. The India Political Ads Transparency Report and Ads Library will go live in March 2019. The updated election ads policy for India will require advertisers that are running election ads in India to provide a ‘pre-certificate’ issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) or anyone authorized by the ECI, for each ad they wish to run. Further, Google will verify the identity of advertisers before their election ads run on its platforms. The advertiser verification process will begin on 14 February 2019. Google unveils a new shopping experience in India

Google, an American multinational technology company unveiled a new shopping search experience for Indian users. A new shopping experience is available via a shopping homepage, shopping tab in Google search and style search in Google Lens. Online Shopping has become an integral part of Indian customers life. Surojit Chatterjee, Vice President – Product Management, Google says, “More than 40 million Indians are coming online every year, and search is an integral part of their online journey. From seasoned desktop shoppers to first-time users with entry-level smartphones, we hope this new shopping experience will make finding what people are looking for just a little bit easier.” The new personalized experience is available across all Google products – a made-to-browse experience on the Shopping home page, the shopping tab on Google Search and in Google Lens, and will allow users to easily filter through offers, review prices from multiple retailers and find the products easily. The new ‘Shopping Homepage’ is a made-to-browse destination for shoppers to search across multiple product categories, and browse products from thousands of retailers, smart features like price drops and a collection of the most popular products on Google have been added too and the experience will also be available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for users with entry-level phones. The ‘Shopping Tab’ in Google Search will allow users to post queries in Hindi and English and show product lists, local store inventory and review prices from across multiple retailers. And lastly, the Style Search in Google Lens is a visual approach to find products such as clothes, furniture, and home decor, by simply pointing the Lens app. Speaking about the offerings for retailers, Surojit says, “With this launch, our aim is to support the entire retail ecosystem, from shopping sites and large retailers to small local shops, and give them the tools, technology, and scale to thrive in today’s digital economy.” According to the Sixth Economic Census, there are 58 million SMBs in India of which 35 percent are engaged in retail trade. Google announced two new smart phones: Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

 Google announced two new additions to the #MadebyGoogle family: Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on October 8th in New Delhi. Pixel 3 (64GB) is priced at Rs 71,000, 128GB at Rs 80,000, Pixel 3XL (64GB) –  Rs 83,000, and Pixel 3 XL( 128GB) is Rs 92,000. The smart phones are available in two sizes, 5.5-inch ( Pixel 3) and the 6.3-inch( Pixel 3 XL) and are available in three colors: Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink. Nexus 9 gets listed on Google Play Store for Rs 28,900

Google is getting aggressive by bringing its Nexus hardware to India. Announced earlier this week, the Nexus 9 tablet is already listed on the India Google Play Store website and should be launched sometime soon. The Nexus 9 tablet features an 8.9inch Corning Gorilla Glass display with 1536×2048 pixel resolution. Running Android Lollipop, it runs on 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It is paired with 2GB of RAM. The tablet also features an 8MP rear camera and a 1.6MP front facing camera. It has got 6700 mAh battery onboard. The 16GB WiFi only variant of the Nexus 9 costs Rs 28,900. The 32GB variant with WiFi and cellular support, listed for Rs 44,900.
